One of my oldest friends in the world has been based in Geneva for over a year now so it was a nice excuse to disrupt both our usually manic schedules and take a short break in a city I probably wouldn’t have visited otherwise. Geneva was a lot different to what I’d imagined, and mostly thanks to Tiff and her colleagues for giving me a bit of a local perspective. Was so good to catch up with our girlfriend Siti (you may remember her from our Spain trip) who flew in to join us for the weekend. From dawn concerts to late afternoon picnics in the park to urban farm visits, summer festivities by the lake, plenty of food and pulled pork sandwich hunts I think we managed to cram a lot into a week and that’s not even including our trip to Lyon!
Most memorable bit? It’ll be hard to choose between having to take a leak in complete darkness in the middle of the forest at midnight (slightly scary but hilarious), and waking up at 6am the next day to catch a classical piano recital by the lake and then watching two tuxedo-clad musicians walk neck-deep into the water (weird but awesome, right?). Now to find another excuse to do it all over again!
