Officially the last outfit we documented from 2013 before W and I took some time out to enjoy the holidays. I hope everyone had a good start to the new year! It was a great couple of weeks for us – W’s birthday is early in the year so we celebrated with a lemon meringue pie I made and today is the last day of my break before I start work again. I can’t believe how fast it’s all over, we only managed to hit the beach today!

So here’s my first outfit post for the year. This is one of my new favourite dresses I picked up at the December sales. I was very tempted to shop like crazy but managed to resist – so many great bargains everywhere! I fell in love the diagonal lines and the heavy jersey fabric.. certainly does not look like the $30 it cost, at least not to me! The pockets go all the way down to the hem, too, which is quite unique (literally deep pockets!) though at the moment the only practical use I can think for them is to go shopping for baguettes with.. haha. Also finally found the perfect black cap, of all places at the markets in Chinatown :) #lovebargains

that’s a great dress and what a fabulous price! LOL about the pockets! Mmmm, i love lemon meringue pie. it’s so good.

Big pockets are every girl’s dreams! (or maybe just mine… but really, it’s unfair that men get stuck with the big pockets and we’re stuck shoving things into the nonexistent pockets in our skinny jeans.) I love how the dress looks in action, and dig the pairing with a cap and birks. Glad to hear the UO shirt worked out well for you :)

Happy New Year’s Steph! I’m late to the party but better late than never right? That dress is an absolute steal and such a beauty. Love the super-sized pockets and dreamy floaty look of the fabric. I’m glad you managed to refrain from over shopping. Me too! Woo hoo he he…

Ohh, I’ve been eyeing this dress up for ages! I couldn’t make make my mind up about it, especially cos it’s far to cold to wear it currently, but now I’ve seen it on you I’m so gutted I didn’t grab one whilst I had the chance, it’s gorgeous! The pockets are such a nice detail too. I managed to avoid too much sale shopping as well, only allowing myself a couple of cheap-ish things, as I am supposed to be saving!

It’s a bit odd but this dress is back again under “new arrivals” if you’re still interested! x

Stephanie, I’m going to take you food shopping whenever I need someone to carry my baguettes! I have to say the dress looks fab on you and I love the black baseball cap. Sometimes you just never know where little goodies like this will crop up.

    • steph /

I’ll gladly carry your baguettes Sue – not sure you’ll get them back tho! :)

  • ODYSSEYhome

Whoa. (insert wide-eyed emoji here). Totally love this dress. Cannot believe it’s from Asos – looks very high end. The fabric and shape… plus the asymmetric him. Totally spot on. Really love it. xx
